Next week’s program:

Speaker:  Mark Hazlett, a Captain in the Salvation Army went over his background and family, and told us a bit about the services provided by his organization.

Mark’s favorite Old Testament prophet is Micah, who commanded, “Do Justice, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly With God”  Mark spent some time explaining how this advice affects him and guides his path through life.

The Army has a soup kitchen that provided 52,000 meals last year in Cedar Rapids.  They have 3300 children and 1100 families registered in advance for help this holiday season.  All this is staffed by volunteers, and Mark asks that we offer our help.  This can be done on line as well as in person at their kitchen in NW Cedar Rapids.

The Salvation Army has been serving Cedar Rapids since 1888, when it was just 13 years since established.
