Cedar Rapids Downtown Kiwanis Club

Announcements1. Homeless Children’s Trust Fund Christmas party gift-wrapping is at Target North  on Blairs Ferry Rd NE on Saturday, December 2.   Contact Sister Charmaine for details.

2. Dave Graeff announced the Sandy Batchelor Memorial Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army is Saturday, December 9 at Wal-Mart on Blairs Ferry Rd NE at the East entrance. Here is the schedule:

3.  John Schweitzer announced the details of the December 20 Christmas lunch at Witwer.  Lunch at noon, joined by the Xavier Choir.

4.  Board meeting next Tuesday, December 5, 12:00 at Bradley & Riley.

Happy Bucks:   Paul Anderson was celebrating his anniversary.  John Schweitzer was happy about the upcoming concerts at Kirkwood on Saturday, and Coe the next weekend.  Kelly Allen forgot her K pin.  Joe Nolte is happy about his upcoming story telling session this Sunday at Mt. Mercy.  Dave Graeff was happy about Mizzou football and basketball.  Janet Blackledge was happy about her ski trip to Vermont (with no snow?).  Bob Hatala was excited about Washington basketball.  Mel and Don were just happy.

Speaker:  

Kelly Allen and Kevin McCarville discussed the membership  committees efforts to date regarding the development of an action plan for the club to promote the growth of membership.  Kelly discussed the member survey results and Kevin discussed his conversations with various International and District officers regarding membership recruitment.   The club then broke into small groups to discuss member input as to what needs to be done to develop the action plan needed to take this task forward.   The membership committee will meet next week to review member input and to begin the development of the action plan to be presented at the January Board meeting.
