Cedar Rapids Downtown Kiwanis Club

The meeting was called to order by President Chuck Wehage.     25  Members in attendance.

Guests:   Joe Maloney- V.P. of Xavier's Key Club.  He attended the Kiwanis leadership conference last year sponsored by us. 

 Birthdays:   Joe Nolte who was not there.  He was out partying.

Anniversaries:  Doug Dix and Robert Hatala

Happy Bucks: Paul Anderson--for Dan Schwitters and for buying a new house in Overland Park KSDon Grimm- Lived through a Memorial Day Service, barely.  Jim Platt- No button last week.  Doug Dix - a total of $5 for Dan Schwitters, Kay Bloom, Paul Anderson, his Daughter, and his anniversary.  Keith- Don saw a moose.  John Schweitzer- Kay and Paul Anderson.  Kay Bloom - for Paul A. and for having a few months left before she moves.  Chuck- Had guns shot near his ear in 1961.

Speaker:   Our own Kevin Carlson gave a great presentation regarding small business funding.  Most common forms are from family and seller financed.  Kevin also talked about  the S.C.O.R.E. program he is a part of.  It stands for the Service Corp of Retired Executives which gives advice to new businesses.
