Next week’s program: Paul Denowski, YMCA Camp Wapsie Director Speaker: John Locher and Kelly Moore stepped in when our speaker had to cancel. They gave an informal talk on the nuances of the stock market. Snickers were won and lost as John quizzed us on such things as: How many times has the Dow Jones dropped 400 or more points in a day? Ans: 6 by Joe Schmall. He received a Snickers but had to forfeit once he confessed he heard it on TV. There was quite a bit of interaction with the audience and our very own Mel Rhodes was a frequent contributor to the conversation, as was Ron Sunderman. For anyone interested in the market and a good book, get Ken Fisher’s “The Only Three Questions You Need to Ask”. That sounds like a woman’s book about men buying jewelry. How big can it be, how much can it cost him, how long before he has to buy again? Word for the day: He’s back and with a vengeance. Wordsmith Don perplexed us with “trope”.
