History

Kiwanis was founded in 1915.  The purpose of the organization became "Community Service"-a humanitarian concept from which Kiwanis has never deviated.  Kiwanis International's permanent major emphasis program - Young Children Priority One - addresses the needs of children.  Today Kiwanis has grown to 8,600 clubs and 315,000 members in 83 countries around the world.
